Due to Conference Play finally beginning we can all now watch College Basketball! I can't bear to watch irrelevant basketball. The Cuse opened up conference play against St. Johns on Wednesday and won handedly 76-59. Their next game is against Cincy Saturday and then follow up Monday with a cant miss game @ #5 Pitt. Look for Pitt to be favored in this one due to the home court advantage but I think Syracuse is chomping at the bit to show just how big of studs they really are. Syracuse has put it to their competition thus far outscoring their opponents an average of 76-59. Look for this gap to shorten as relevant competition and games begin to be played.
A quick look at Syracuse's Studs:
Most will agree that Kris Joseph a junior averaging 15.3 ppg is the undisputed stud of the Orange but statistically the senior Rick Jackson is the guy that game plans are made around. Jackson is currently averaging a double double at 13.1 ppg and 11.8 rpg while also throwing down 2.2 bpg. At 2.2 blocks per game this ranks Jackson surprisingly low at 33rd overall in the NCAA. The current NCAA leader with an astounding 4.1 blocks per game is JR Center William Mosley of Northwestern State. Look also for Sophomore Brandon Triche to continue to step up for the Orange. He currently averages 10,2.5,3 and over the last 8 games he's brought his average up to 12,3,3.
The Cuse look very strong this year. Look for them to contend once again for the Big East Title and hopefully wrap up a 1 or 2 seed in the expanded tournament.
